Before/After

It’s important to know how to crop a picture, as well as change the brightness and contrast. To that end, it helps to know how to read a histogram. To find out more about histograms, click here or here or here. Before you glaze out with too much information, sit back and enjoy nice cuppa (you fill in the blank).

Before and After by Kim
See the differences...Less clutter and better color. All is good!

 Lake Tahoe (Before) by Gail
Lake Tahoe (After) by Gail
By cropping out the extra sky and snow, the picture goes from good to beautiful!

 After                      Before
Down it Goes by Gail
What a huge difference changing the brightness makes in this picture. The before picture is not useable, while the after picture is.

Tyler by Gail
The differences are subtle, but important...the judge is omitted. and we get a better look at Tyler’s smile, which is what the whole picture is about!

Autumn Warmth by Ed (Before)
(After) cropping made this picture 100% better!

Make My Day (Before)
After...by Dianne
We get a much better view of the cheetah
Sacred Stones by Deana (Before the columns are not straight, and the color is dull...After..it’s perfection!

Water Festival by Ed (Before--
CBC brought “out" the water display.
Hummingbirds by Dianne
CBC made them brilliant!
Splish Splash Two Finches Taking a Bath by Joyce (Before)
After...so much better...you can see the expressions on their faces...sooo cute
Daffodil Hill by Gail (before)
After is so much more focused on what the picture is about. Be careful with yellow...if you process it too much it will “blow out”
